For this past week's community gathering, we explored the question of identity. Is the "you" that you depict yourself to be on social media the real "you"? If we act differently around different friends, which is the real "you"? Does who you are change depending on your mood or what clothes you wear that day? It was a question most of our teens hadn't considered.
In the accompanying art experiment, we printed out silhouettes of everyone and let the teens write down words describing themselves using metallic markers. It was a fascinating way for everyone to see what they value and what they aspire to.
